About the Artist
Madeliene Celeste Becker
during her study in fine arts, professor and friend aaron pormarejo with
a mixed media art background introduced to madeliene his techniques in
collage making. inspired with this exciting art she conducted experiment
on it with other possibilities in different papers and paint medium,
techniques in construction and organization of materials.

in
1991, she worked as a free lance interior designer in east africa and
also practiced interior design in singapore for 9 years. living there was
as an advantage for its large resources of materials from asia. madeliene
created a series of artworks in varied range of materials like handmade
textured papers, parchments, japanese washi, momi, chiyogami papers,
in association with wires, threads, yarns and leathers. during her stay
in singapore she was commissioned for her several works and takes pride
of  significant number  of her artworks are possessed in private collections.
in september
2000 she moved to new jersey and currently a free lance
interior designer and space planner.

for madeliene,  in art there are no rules and principles. she believes that all
artists can paint what they feel, imagine and observe. the important element
is the present feeling of wanting to create, the first impression. every work
is a challenge to her,  it covers her wide space of thoughts, feelings and
purposes. her art is an expression and a form of therapy, it isolatesher with
the present and locks her in the world of freedom and creativity.

some of her works are now owned by private collectors in canada, indonesia,
philippines, bangladesh, singapore, england, and usa. madeliene studied bachelor
of fine arts major in interior design in the philippines. in
